יָסַר(b. h.; cmp. אָסַר) (to tie up; cmp. חוּב. Pi. יִסֵּר, יִיסֵּר to chastise, chasten, try. Snh.39a … מְיַיסֵּר … ביסורין he (the king) punishes the prominent among them (the rebellious citizens); כךהקב״ה מי׳וכ׳ so did the Lord visit Ezekiel in order to wash away the sins of Israel. Ab.
